How does Audience Equal Profit?
Southeast Asian Context - Singapore (Comedy yet educational movie)

- Mass Media Audience
The audience in Singapore is over four millions people
4,740,737 (July 2011 est.) 


- Demographic
eg: age, gender, occupation, income, family size,education, marital status etc.
After centuries of regional migration, Singapore has become a cultural melting pot. The majority of its people are Chinese, which along with the Malays, Indians, Eurasians and other minorities, make up the plural society.


0-14 years: 13.8% (male 338,419/female 314,704) 
15-64 years: 77% (male 1,774,444/female 1,874,985) 
65 years and over: 9.2% (male 196,101/female 242,084) (2011 est.)


- Psychographic
Psychographics ask questions of the lifestyles, behavior and attitude of the person in question to build up a more detailed picture of who they are. Through Psychographic research you can differentiate your clients into risk aversive or risk takers or risk neutral.

- Distribution System

Singapore’s market is too small. To survive commercially, Singapore films have to be marketable to other Asian markets like HK, Malaysia and perhaps even China.
Also because the market is small, budgets likewise are small, so that movies can be commercially viable. Thus, we don’t see many action-packed full of fast cars and explosions kinda movies, but more story-driven ones instead.
